The end is surely upon us.

And what do we do?  In droves, we've lined up at church doors and gathered for sermons in parks.  Those who would once forsake the archaic religious beliefs of the Christian church, now turn as one to this imagined greater-power.  Hypocritically, they do so with the belief that no matter how bad this will get, a better place will welcome them upon death.

If that is truly what you want for what will amount to the rest of your life, then fine.  Plug your ears.  Stick your head in the sand.  Ignore the transgressions happening next door; the evil lurking in our streets; and the horrors that are growing more powerful with every waking hour.

These invaders have but one mission: to exterminate us.  And all you can say is that it's God's will?  That we are living in a modern Sodom and Gomorrah?  That those of us who are pure in heart have nothing to fear because we will find ourselves comforted by the hands of our heavenly father when all is said and done?

There is no God.  There is no heaven.  The only truth is hell.  And hell is the world we now live in.  You want hope?  Look at your hands.  Think with your head.  We are humans.  We've put men on the moon and produced genius the likes of Motzart and Beethoven.  Our science has conquered disease and disseminated a level of information, world-wide, the likes of which was unimaginable a century ago.

We are man-kind.  We are hope.  And we will not hide behind the false hope of religion.

We will not go silently into the night.

We will stand.  And we will fight.

That image is the funniest thing I've seen all day. Fantastic.

Oh, and unfortunately , man is mankind's greatest enemy. In fact, man is mankind's only enemy. Man is a self correcting virus... mother nature's "practical" joke. Koalas and Pandas know when to stop reproducing when resources get scare. Man, ever the humorous contradiction, reproduces more when things are worse.. partly out of boredom, and partly to distract himself from the shit that has compelled him to fuck. The scarcity of resources wouldn't be enough to seal the deal. No, man is so peculiar, that statistically it is guaranteed that a thinker will come every now and then who will see through Nature's robes and draw her form, so that it may be manipulated by man. Consequently, technology arises, those that create and destroy. When the two elements of technology and man's fuckery come together, what is guaranteed... absolutely guaranteed... is an Apocalypse. The only question is "when?"
