As we get deeper into the story of Peter & the Dark Wolf, I'd really like to encourage you all to leave some comments about where you think the story is going and whatever random ideas you might have.

See, the truth is that I'm only about three chapters into this story, so whatever thoughts you have could really help inspire more writing.  1.6 is after the break!

"Fucking lame ride," said the dark-haired woman who sat beside me on the Ferris wheel.

Never had the phrase "music to my ears" been more appropriate.

"Do you think a person has ever gotten so bored they just jumped?"

I had to shift to hide the growing tent in the front of my pants. Her voice had a rough edge to it, a raspy, low quality that titillated in ways I'd rather not get into. My eyes darted down to her hands. The action was so automatic that I didn't realize what I was doing until I made note of an absence of jewelry. Except on her left pinky--she wore a thick silver band that had two triangles etched into it.

I chuckled inwardly. I was three days away from returning to my dark lair--an act that would effectively remove me from all the frivolity of the surface-dwellers courting and mating rituals--and here I was, checking to see if this woman was married. Moreover, I was still involved with Patience. Or Joy. Or whatever the hell her name was

Of course, it's not like I would ever let anything as silly like being out on a date with another girl stop me from picking up someone else. That, after all, was the way of the surface-dwellers.

"I don't know about jumping," I said, applying a nonchalant air to my tone, "but I'd love to think that two people could get bored enough to fuck on one of these things."

My dark-haired, dark-eyed companion nodded slowly but avoided turning to me. "I could see that," she said, grabbing hold of the safety rail. "The danger of the car," she rocked back and forth making the car tilt in what felt like a precarious way. "The rocking motion. Possibly being seen or even caught. Yeah ..."

Her eyes finally met mine. They were an impossibly dark shade of brown that under the right circumstances could look totally black. My blood jumped onto the express train to my groin.
