Many thanks for all the positive comments to the 1.1 entry of Peter & the Dark Wolf. You'll forgive the lingering narrative ... if for no other reason than the sections are in bite-sized bits.
A quick update on Zaphod: I've been too busy this week to be working on the panels for the next comic, but I did write a quick strip for Zombie Awareness Month and started putting together the panels for that last night. It'll be a little different from what you've been seeing for the past few weeks, but you will see it this weekend! (Or first thing Monday as I will be out-of-town on Sunday.)
Peter & the Dark Wolf entry is after the break!
Peter & the Dark Wolf
Chapter 1
-2-
It's a hard concept to explain to those who deny the darkness that resides within us all. For those who at least acknowledge the impenetrable blackness that lines our souls, understanding is far easier to grasp. They may not like the understanding that is offered, but it is there, nonetheless.
As much simplicity and delightful pleasures the surface has to offer, my time there has run its course and I've grown bored and weary of it's indefatigable shallowness. My dark lair has been beckoning for much too long now and it would be unforgivable to deny its quiet call.
Fortunately, the trip beneath the surface is not a hard one for me to make. Nor does it take a particularly long time. My one concern, however, is another relapse. I find that when I am fully ensconced in my dark lair that’s when the allure of the surface is strongest. I must fortify myself in anticipation of this eventuality. Once I return to my dark lair, I must not return to the surface. This is something I've been grappling with for a while now--a difficult problem that needs a clean and simple solution. As effortless as my return to the dark lair may be, ensuring that I won't return to the surface has proven itself to be a far more challenging task.
But I think I have the answer now. And in three days time, I'll be back where I belong.
In my dark lair.
But first ... I have to ride this Ferris wheel.
