I feel REALLY stupid.

Ever since Explorers of the Unknown went live, I've been paying very close attention to the website stats and tracking the numbers.  This was a week and a half ago.

Today, I realized that I didn't have my statcounter code on all my web pages ... specifically the webcomic blogs.

In other words, I've only been tracking the traffic to my main blog, this one.

It's fixed, now ... but I do feel stupid.  Weebly, the easy-as-mud site that I use to design and maintain horbawrong.com, really needs to institute a proper stat-tracking system.

I'm just sayin'.

Enjoying Explorers of the Unknown?  Frustrated at all by the update schedule?  No?

Excellent.

Last night I posted a video that many have already heralded as "good news".  Thanks for that--I really appreciate it.  Essentially, I'm diving back into the scripted madness of the original krumbinesBRAIN.

As many of you are aware, this is coming at a time when two particular new episodes of Talking Heads are way, WAY long overdue.  I've been stewing on this failure for a little while now and I'm slowly coming to terms with the realization that Talking Heads might have finally run its course.

Which is sad, but it's not a bad thing.

I have nothing to talk about here.  I can tell you that we're almost done with Chapter 1 and I thank everyone who has hung around and enjoyed the ride with me.  I guess this is a fair enough time to point out that while this story is an ephemeral work in progress, I do have a couple of other--COMPLETED--written stories.  Check out the books link above, or just hop on over to my lulu.com page for direct access.

As we get deeper into the story of Peter & the Dark Wolf, I'd really like to encourage you all to leave some comments about where you think the story is going and whatever random ideas you might have.

See, the truth is that I'm only about three chapters into this story, so whatever thoughts you have could really help inspire more writing.  1.6 is after the break!

Grrr-argh.

There are no words to describe how horrible THE FAIL ZONE is.  I'm hours away from leaving for my flight to New Jersey and I'm trying to get as much accomplished as possible.

This, of course, means that EVERYTHING must stop working.  I've recorded two of the four or five videos that I intended to tape.  Right now, my camera is no longer recording.  I need to upload all these videos to youtube--marking them private and then making them public in the coming days--but one video has already errored out twice.  And that was AFTER it had uploaded the lion's share of the 200MB.

So as my time is running out, I'm turning my focus to the website and getting a couple of the chapters lined up and ready for the next few days.  I hope you never have to visit THE FAIL ZONE.  1.5 is after the break.

At first, I was a little disappointed with the lack of comments on the last part of this story ... except for Denitson.  Everybody knows I love him almost as much as he loves me.  In fact, last night I had quite the dream about Mr. D-to-the-Trip-7's (yeah, I dunno ... I just made that up).

And yes, we were naked.  But in our defense, so were chipmunks.

So, I was disappointed about the lack of comments, but then I realized that hell, even *I* wouldn't have commented on that part of the story.  It was filler, and not very exciting filler either.  This one is better.

At any rate, I'm going to get the wristband mailers together tomorrow, so watch for the follow-up video tonight or tomorrow.  Also, I have a quick video I need to do about some channel recommendations and a small run-in I had with some plain bad youtube-etiquette.  It kinda just got me miffed for a bit and resulted in a swift "unsubscribe" on my part.  I'll talk about it later, though.

Finally: Lupine, that's a brilliant idea for Zombie Flu story (he left a comment on the "Zombie FU" post below--read it!).  If you don't write it, well, I won't either, but it'll definitely percolate.

Not much is likely to be coming from me this weekend.  I've got a brief amount of time at home and to myself before diving into my schedule for the weekend.  The time spent alone will mostly be spent sleeping ...

Early this afternoon, I'm going to see Transformers (yay!!!); tonight, I go to my sister's birthday dinner and then we go see Transformers (yay!!!); tomorrow I spend an hour or two on the road with my mom to visit my estranged grandfather who has been in and out of the hospital for several weeks now.

I've got the workings of a quick Zaphod comic going and maybe I'll get to it late tonight to post it tomorrow.  Until then, enjoy the story after the break:

Many thanks for all the positive comments to the 1.1 entry of Peter & the Dark Wolf.  You'll forgive the lingering narrative ... if for no other reason than the sections are in bite-sized bits.

A quick update on Zaphod: I've been too busy this week to be working on the panels for the next comic, but I did write a quick strip for Zombie Awareness Month and started putting together the panels for that last night.  It'll be a little different from what you've been seeing for the past few weeks, but you will see it this weekend!  (Or first thing Monday as I will be out-of-town on Sunday.)
