Horbawrong Days 10/13/2009
It's times like these where I'm actually glad that my work isn't popular. Don't get me wrong: I have a solid, core audience for which I'm totally thankful for .... but I don't feel like busting out the Zaphod comics right now (although maybe I should round it out to an even 30 strips before I officially break from it). Not having a huge audience and not having high overhead costs (website maintenance and whatnot) means that all of this can continue to be hobby that it is. Of course, this is not to say that I don't have higher aspirations for any of my work, but I guess it's good to know that there's no pressure, right? As I'm working on rehashing what it means to be creative online, one thing that I'm sure of is that the two most important days of the week are not, in fact, Saturday and Sunday but Monday and Wednesday. Monday is critical because it sets the tone for your week. They say that first impressions are the most important and Monday's have a hell of a job of keeping up to par. Wednesday's are even more critical because just as you're ready to bust out the handgun to take any early holiday, Wednesday can come along and be the crucial savior to get you through the rest of the week. Here's my thought: you're busy enough every day of the week and, hopefully, you have enough of a personal life to be involved with things that actually matter on the weekend. I want horbawrong.com to be the pit-stop in the long, dreary haul that is your work week. Every Monday and Wednesday on horbawrong.com should hold the promise of distraction, entertainment, enlightenment, and hope. Pardon the cheese, but lets leave the horrible and the bad for Tuesday's, Thursday's, and Friday's. Monday and Wednesday are hereby designated Hobawrong Days. .... starting next week. See, we're at the tail end of issue 2 of Explorers of the Unknown, and I thought I'd wrap it up over the last few days of the week. Stay tuned .... EotU 2-17 10/12/2009

Goodbye Vlogs, Hello Neo-Mono 10/06/2009
One of the things that I'm virtually always thinking about is how to be different. And I'm not talking about generic, angsty, stand-out-from-the-crowd "different" but the kind of different--on YouTube--that when you see it, it makes you stop in your tracks.
It's such a constant thought process (literally, it's a daily if not hourly activity) that I oft times just get completely sick of myself. There's no such thing as something different so there's no point in trying. And even if I do come up with something marginally unique, hardly anyone will see it in the first place. A comment was posted on a news story about an abortion protest (although I use the term "news story" loosely considering the source) and thought it was just so hilarious that I'd share it with you guys.
paul_vincent_zecchino writes: Here again, as with the article on the gun-grabbers, those who support God's viewpoint on life and therefore oppose abortion, express themselves by presenting truth and God's Word in a logical, reasonable manner. And those who support abortion express themselves by means of fabrications, dissemblings, manipulations, denials, and insults piously recited in hysterical tones. As Magnus quite rightly observes, liberals seem to have a gift for, if not hypocrisy, then certainly irony. By the by, why would the Sovereign of the Universe, whose qualities are love, justice, wisdom, and power, allow this grotesque spectacle of millions butchered by abortion to continue indefinetly? Doesn't Biblical evidence indicate that no evil continues indefinetly, as in His time the Creator acts decisively to bring it to a crushing, unexpected halt?
