The NewTubers 09/21/2009
Let's see ... looking back on my posts here, I see the last time I wrote anything of substance was well over a week ago--my review of the webcomic, Console Hopping. There's still plenty of posts, mind you, just little in the way of written word. The obvious explanation is my shift in focus from video to comics. Which doesn't really explain the lack of words so much, but it does explain where my attention has been lately. Instead of pounding out video after video, I'm writing comics. You'll note that the website header has been updated and at the center of it is a graphic for The NewTubers. This is a project that has been percolating for a while now and is going to see the light-of-day as a 50-page series. I've finished the first half of the series and have handed it over to bell02 who will be providing the art (you know, because he's positively the best artist in the world). I can't give away too much about the comic right now, but I can tell you that true to the title of the comic, there will be a lot of familiar faces in it. Here's an abbreviated cast list: Misspacman08 Obsquatch TheStarvingSoprano Middlebrook Ibrahim Novanine Victor Sam Krumbine (of course I'm going to be in it!) There will be others in the comic ... some as quick cameos, others as guest spots. All in all, it's going to be a fun run. EotU 2-08 09/21/2009

![]() Many years ago, during my days in college, I had my trusty iBook (900MHz G3, white model, thankyouverymuch) that was my proverbial workhorse. And it was beautifully portable to the point where I literally took it everywhere. One good thing about have a laptop with you at all times and having plenty of downtime between classes on a well wifi-d campus is that you get to spend plenty of time on the internet. Granted, I spend a lot of time on the internet now, but back then, I also spent a lot of time reading web comics. Sadly, as the years progressed, I stopped paying attention to the comics (it seemed like if you miss too many, and you want to go back and find where you left off, you're screwed!). Despite this, I've always been keen on MAKING webcomics. And since I've recently returned to that passion with Explorers of the Unknown and Zaphod Zombie, I thought it prudent to get back to reading those webcomics that had fallen back to whatever lies beyond the back-burner. After the break, I'll share with you a little nugget called "Console Hopping". |
