After suffering the crazy religious bullshit that is TheWoodsofJordan (thanks, Lupy!) wherein this recent video literally condemned free thought (I can't even type it with it growing infuriated), I found this gem of a clip from Penn & Teller's Bullshit about the Bible. Watching this video should be mandatory practice for anyone who believes that, you know, free thought is a GOOD idea. Argue with me. Go on. Do it. Season 4 is coming September 27th and I honestly could not be happier. Watch a video here. Explorers of the Unknown -- 21 08/14/2009
Who Likes to Rock the Party? 08/12/2009
Did you know that Einstein invented his theory of special relativity (which would later evolve into his theory of general relativity) by daydreaming on the job at the patent office? I don't know about you, but when I daydream, it's usually about sex. And zombies. Occassionally, it's about zombie sex. Remember: it's not necrophilia if you BOTH are zombies! Well, actually, it is still necrophilia ... but I don't think it's as illegal, you know? Moving along: it's been a light week for videos and I (sorta) apologize for that. In real life news, my grandfather passed away Monday morning at 2am. His funeral is tomorrow. Sadly, this man was a stranger to my family and an non-existent father to my own dad. What makes his death truly difficult is the fact that yesterday marked the two-month mark of dad's death. The proximity to the two-month mark isn't even relevant--for them both to die in such extreme proximity to each other ... At any rate, as real life continues to occupy the majority of my waking life, videos will be continue to be minimal. The good news is that the mini-series with Heather will likely be coming at you fast (yeah, only a millenia or two after it was originally mentioned) and I have a couple of more scripts for krumbinesBRAIN. In the world of comics, the first issue of Explorers of the unknown is nearly complete. In fact, we'll be done Friday of next week. I'm hoping that after that, the break between the first and second comic will be short (only two or three weeks) and to help fill the gap (big hope here) will be a rather epic video promo for the first issue. I have most of the material, I just need to edit. And as you can tell from the second Apocablog, I'm just wicked-keen on massive editing projects. (That's a joke, see, because I haven't MADE the second Apocablog yet. Haha. Yeah ...) Elsewhere in comics, Zaphod Zombie is doing incredibly well. I would love to have more updates that once a week, but as I mentioned, it's been difficult lately with the real life kicking. I can tell you that in addition to Chuck, another new (old) character will be joining the cast soon. And despite what you'll be hearing in an upcoming krumbinesBRAIN episode, somehow, some way, Max Nebula is for realsies. Stay creative, kids! Explorers of the Unknown -- 20 08/12/2009
Read the rest of the comic here! Happy Puddles, Damn Happy Puddles 08/11/2009
I saw these puddles on my way to the mailbox yesterday. Obviously, they form the shape of smiley face. So infuriated by this discovery, I promptly stomped through all the puddles and screamed down at the mutilated smiley face: "NOT SO HAPPY NOW, ARE YA?!" ... it occurred to me only after that perhaps this was not a good thing to do while the neighbor was out in her driveway, washing her car. **UPDATE: Since reposting this video here and netting the extra views, this episode of krumbinesBRAIN was filtered by YouTube's copyright nazis. Fortunately, the band is a money whore, so the video gets to stay with links to iTunes and Amazon. Hoo-rah for copyright nazis. Makes me wonder what ever happened to the original collab those clips were for. Krumbine's Epic Comment Contest 08/10/2009
Screw it. I'm not gonna make a video. Okay, maybe I will ... but I'll just mention this in it, rather than letting the video be the starting point for the contest.. After weeks of percolating, I've devised what I hope will be a fun and creative challenge, easily accessible to anyone and everyone. This ties into my regular Friday giveaway that I mentioned in a recent video. As you can tell from the title of this post, I call this "Krumbine's Epic Comment Contest". This is inspired by a request from XxJaggedLittlePillxX for a writing contest and Lupine's indefatigable talent for the most rambly, awesome comments ever. The rules are simple: leave an epic comment on this post. It doesn't have to be about anything particular, it just has to be epic. And no cutting and pasting--I have a sixth sense that enables me to tell when someone has plagiarized. This week, the prize for the winning epic comment is a Zombie Pride t-shirt. You have until Thursday at midnight to get your comment in and I'll announce the winner on Friday. Have fun and stay creative! |
