Long time, no see, huh? Sorry about that. A lot has happened since my last post, and hopefully you haven't missed out on the last few episodes of SEXKITTENS. I spare you the drama of the last few weeks and just highlight the big things:
1) The SEXKITTENS finale had to be reworked due to budget constraints, but it's still a fitting end to the series. All 18 episodes are officially up on my
youtube page, so check them out or wait for me to post the series playlist here.
2) The Beanie Boy Show is not gone .... I just didn't want it to steal any of Sexkittens thunder. And, well, I fell behind on my editing. With Sexkittens complete, we'll get back to Beanie Boy's Monday schedule.
3) Horbawrong Studios begins production of it's next show, Misery Loves Company, in a few days. I've written and produced an original theme for the show and I've been working towards composing a bit of original music for each episode. For everyone who enjoyed all the ladies in Sexkittens, celebrate--Misery Loves Company stars Sam, Sharilynn, Falynne, and Heidi.
4) Last--but certainly not least--I've went ahead and created my own social network. As ridiculous as that sounds (you know, because I'm pretty much opposed to anything 'social-networky') the dry run has been a pretty decent success. It's called
Krumbination and anyone who has a creative bone in their body is encouraged to join. After the break, you can read about what the guiding principles of Krumbination are. Additionally, with this community-driven creative, er, community, I've decided to take this opportunity to relaunch the Talking Heads webcam show. Except it's not called Talking Heads anymore and it's driven solely by members of Krumbination. So if you want to get in on the fun, you know where to go:
My friends, it's been a fun run. We've had our highs and we've had our lows, but even at our worst, it's been nothing but the best. And as cliché as it is, all good things really must come to an end.
Which is exactly what will be happening to SEXKITTENS in the next few weeks.
What, did you think I was talking about something else?
We've got two more episodes in the can and ready to post before our finale. And while we officially started taping the big final episode last night, it will probably take another two or three weekends before we'll be able to wrap shooting.
Did I mention that our final episode will be a full 20 some-odd minutes long? Yes, we're going full, half-hour format for the big finish and it will likely be too big for YouTube (although I might split up into parts). But I'm okay with it being too big for YouTube because--one--that was the plan all along and--two--YouTube is kinda being a little shit-tard lately, dontcha think?
Have you noticed how YouTube seems to allocate the lions share of their bandwidth to the big-time videos? If you have no idea what I'm talking about, try playing a video from a friend--anybody, really, who doesn't bank thousands of views in a day. Even for a short video (a minute and a half??) you pretty much have to walk away to let it load and then watch it later.
I'm sorry, but that sucks and it's pretty much a dick thing for YouTube to be doing. Even on low-quality, videos take too long to load. Is it just me? I don't think so. So, yeah, I'm a little disenfranchised when it comes to YouTube right now, so I'm not all that disappointed to phase it out as a primary distribution platform. The simple fact of the matter is that what I require of YouTube is streaming video--if they can't handle it, I've got about five other options that can, and can do it better than YouTube.
So that's where I'm at. We've got two new episodes of SEXKITTENS for this Wednesday and the following and then there'll be a short break until we can get the finale finished. In the meantime, we'll have Beanie Boy on Monday's and I'll be working up some previews for you guys shortly.
ALSO: once we finish production on SEXKITTENS, my group is ramping up for a new show called MISERY LOVES COMPANY. This show will have a 10 episode run, and all the scripts are written (and they are GOOOOOOD!). We're all pretty excited about this show, so hopefully we can get some previews to you soon.
Stay tuned and stay creative!
